I saw this odd sight while driving down Delmar Blvd yesterday. Apparently basement excavation on the lot next to this house destabilized the foundation causing the nearly the entire wall on the right side of the house to fall off leaving this room and the stairs almost completely intact.

I shot this image on a photowalk on Locust and Washington just west of downtown St. Louis. This image is an experiment in HDR processing and is a combination of three bracketed shots. The shots were handheld with auto-bracketing in drive mode, so there is a little blurring and double-exposure artifacting. It's an experiment, what can I say.

This elephant was one of a series of three I found on the exterior wall of an abandoned building near Laclede's Landing (on the north side of downtown St. Louis by the Mississippi River). The elephants were either part of an old poster or had been painted or stenciled on the wall.
